Staff Accountant Job Chicago, IL

This position will be responsible for the monthly close and will assist in various adhoc accounting projects throughout the month. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Participates in the monthly close (journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and transaction/account analysis)
· Participates in monthly reporting (rollforwards, P&L fluctuation analysis, Balance Sheet analysis)
· Monitors and ensures compliance with the internal control process
· Seeks solutions for accounting problems before presenting them to manager
· Participates in preliminary analysis of financial reports, interprets financial results, and alerts management of significant problems"
